Riverside Viewpoints
The Riverside Viewpoints published more stories this semester than the pandemic semester Spring 2020, but it still marked a downturn from more recent semesters.
The publication relied heavily on sports stories. It had almost double the percentage of sports stories as it had news stories. It ranked second in the state with 44.0 percent sports coverage. And campus sports were a big part of the coverage. The total number of sports stories (n. 47) was second most in the state, but the percentage devoted to campus sports (40.5 percent) was the highest in the state.
Distinctive to the Viewpoints was its series of food reviews.
Stories were posted 49.0 percent of possible days, the eighth highest percentage in the state. While Wednesdays were the most popular days to post stories (26.7 percent), Thursdays, Fridays, and weekends were also popular (20.7 percent each). Stories were more likely to be posted in the afternoon (52.6 percent).
The site drew 24.3k visitors each month.
