It started with urban fires in Southern California, transitioned to the Donald Trump inauguration, and was followed by Trump Administration chaos (attack on immigrants, attack on DEI, introduction of DOGE, attack on law firms, attack on major universities, the abduction and deportation first of alleged terrorists and then on immigrants and possibly citizens, and the revocation of international student visas). In the meantime, there were music festivals up and down the state; computer bots continued to flood community college campuses with fake enrollments to scam financial aid; major curriculum changes to general education took place; common course numbering continued to kick in; protests against DEI cuts, immigration enforcement, and Trump as king took place on campuses and in communities across the state; and Trump deployed the National Guard to Los Angeles.
